2010 - 2011 8th generation Toyota Celica

Post by zzt230 »

The rumor mill is up and running again this week, churning out reports of a new Toyota Celica. While the Toyota line-up once included a variety of sports-coupes, since the cancellation of the Supra, MR2 and Celica, it's had nothing but sedans, hatchbacks, vans and trucks to offer. Rumor has it that a new Celica is on the way, to be built by Subaru, in whose parent company Fuji Heavy Industries Toyota acquired significant stake back in 2005.
If reports out of Japan's BestCar are to be believed, the new Celica will come in two versions: the base GT, with a naturally-aspirated 2-liter Subaru boxer four driving the rear wheels, and a hopped-up GT-Four version with the 300-hp turbo engine from the JDM Impreza STi and all-wheel-drive. The GT-Four could also be a sort of performance hybrid, gaining small electric motors in each of the four wheels. Both the GT and GT-Four are tipped to be available in either two-door or three-door bodystyles, since the Impreza is offered only as a sedan and five-door for this current generation.

Well actually Toyota owns like 60% of Subaru, so it's not strange that you may call it Toysub/ Subota.....

Esaki no ta correcto. Pa di prome Fuji Heavy industries ta e holding di subaru y nan ta 100% owners di Subaru.

Toyota tin un stake di 18% den Fuji... nan no a ni yega 20% "controling" stake ainda y manera cos ta pinta fuji no lo permiti esey pa awor tampoco ya cu nan ta contento cu e injection di 301 billion yen of te wel 31 million dollars.

Di unda bo a sali cu e 60% mi no sa pero mi no ta kere bo lo subi un Subaru Forum anytime soon... si bo hacie no post e cos aki ya cu bo estadia no lo ta largo...

All in all hey that toyomoto has a scooby hart and legs... so it will run like no toyota ever ran...

ooh sounds more like 8.7% toyota.

http://www.autoblog.com/2005/10/05/gm-sells-subaru-stake-to-toyota/

Toyota Motor will buy an 8.7 percent position in Fuji Heavy Industries, parent company of Subaru, from General Motors. GM, which currently owns 20 percent of Fuji, will sell its remaining 11.4 percent stake into a Fuji open-market share buy-back program, completely liquidating its position in Fuji by the end of the week.

The Toyota part of the deal is worth $309 million to GM. The value of the Fuji share buy-back will be depend on the open market value of the shares.

The deal allowed GM to restate its second quarter financials to show a $700 million to $800 million reduction in the carrying costs of its Fuji Heavy position.

All Saab-Subaru joint developments will be dropped, except for ongoing supply for Saab's 9-2x.

Ohh and

Meanwhile, Toyota will benefit from access to Fuji Heavy's underutilized manufacturing facilities, especially in the U.S., as well as key technologies such as advanced lithium-ion batteries and all-wheel-drive powertrains.

Yup, in exchange for Toyota's "advanced" Diesels and hybrid drive systems. :laffin:

The roots remain...
but as with anything(everthing) else it is up to those who are the future to shape the future.

Wow Toyomoto guys kier attack subaru guys LOL

@GinoX look up Subaru's diesel boxer engine di e Forester...

Oh and rumurs running around diesel powered WRX ... now that sounds nice!

Edit; Nunca Aruba tabata tin full e assortiment di Subaru...
