I thought that only the French Pass Connection racing team is still playing with the venerable 3T. All the others in the single digits have gone over to the 3S-GTE and the 2/3RZ engines.... But then, this is my assumption.
The make up of any "culture" must evolve or die.....
The roots remain...
but as with anything(everthing) else it is up to those who are the future to shape the future.
Yeah French pass still uses the 3T . I respect that little engine it made 500 at the wheels with turbo only .The 3T head flows stock around 120cfm The head is ported with huge stainless valves and the heads only flow like 185 cfm (full ported with competetion 3 angle valvejob ) . The 3s stock flows about 235cfm stock and with just porting without a valvejob they flow around 255 cfm with stock valve . With oversize valve and a competetion valvejob it should flow around 270 cfm . What does this tell me ? That with the boost they are running now if they just put a 3S with ported heads and good rods and pistons that beast should run low low 8s easy . Or even high 7s .
Chui
so the T3 Toyota Engine is still very powerfull. And still in use by some Racers.
Me, mi thoughts where that most peolpe do not use this engines anymore to drag race in Aruba..but the bigger ,electronic/fuel-injected engines..
so it's nice to hear that this engines will be around for a very long long time to come..and bringing some crazy low times at the track..
And thank you again Marv for posting the Vid..
